HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN FLIPBOOK
-------------------------------------------------------------
Napa has printed empty flipbooks for the competition which can be bought at Napa's Gallery & Shop or at Napa webshop.
You can also easily make your own flipbook from scratch!
You'll need: Regular printing paper, paper knife, pencil, eraser, rubber band
- Cut papers to get 80 pieces in size 85 mm x 55 mm (horizontal)
- Leave 4 empty pages in the beginning and in the end of the book. This makes it easier to flick it through smoothly.
- Start drawing with a pencil (or any other technique you want to use) from the end of the book - this way you can see the previous image through the paper. Do not use other colours than black inside the book.
- Make a cover image to your book. This can be made with colours.
- Check that the final clip consists of 72 pictures
- Bound the book tightly with a rubber band
Be sure to include your name, age, address and e-mail in the back of your flipbook. If you would like to have your work sent back after the competition make sure to send an envelope with your address and sufficient postage (in euros) along with your work.
A jury consisting of Napa Gallery & Agency artists
and illustrators will choose the winning piece. We will contact all the participants during November 2011.
The winning flipbook will receive a prize and will be published by Napa Books. All the participating flipbooks will take part in the exhibition at Napa Gallery in Dec 2011.
ALL SUBMISSIONS MUST BE SENT BEFORE NOVEMBER 1st 2011
